Tinubu Donates Annual Salary to Armed Forces Welfare Fund, TMV Commends Gesture.

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) have praised President Bola Tinubu for donating his annual salary to support members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, describing the move as a strong demonstration of his commitment to the welfare of security personnel.
In a statement signed by Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Segun Ogedengbe, the group said the gesture reflects the President’s concern over the country’s security challenges and the well-being of those serving on the front lines.
According to the statement, the donation forms part of activities marking the President’s 74th birthday, during which he also announced the establishment of a dedicated welfare fund for armed forces personnel. The fund is intended to support soldiers wounded in the line of duty, as well as the families of fallen service members.
TMV noted that the President directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to create a special account for the initiative, aimed at providing care for injured personnel, widows, dependents, and children of deceased officers.
The group described the move as a show of compassion and a signal of the administration’s determination to ensure that the sacrifices of military personnel are not forgotten.
They further stated that President Tinubu chose a reflective approach to his birthday, avoiding elaborate celebrations in favour of initiatives focused on national service and support for the armed forces.
The statement also highlighted the President’s call on the private sector, members of the National Assembly, and well meaning Nigerians to contribute to the fund.
TMV commended the President for leading by example, noting that he has committed all his annual salaries since 2023 to the initiative, and described the action as a reaffirmation that the service and sacrifices of Nigerian military personnel will be honoured with dignity and institutional support.
