Troops Uncover Mass Graves as Operation HADIN KAI Disrupts Insurgent Networks

​Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have discovered mass graves containing the bodies of approximately 20 terrorists.

The discovery follows a deadly clash which the military recorded significant gains in a major offensive within the Timbuktu Triangle, neutralizing several terrorists and dismantling key operational bases.

In a statement signed by the Media Information Officer for Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba and made available to Channel Network Afrique, confirmed the successful clearance and domination of strategic locations, including Tergejeri, Chiralia, and the Ajigin/Abirma general areas.

The operation is part of a sustained campaign to degrade the logistics and coordination of terrorist networks operating in Nigeria’s North East.

​While troops were consolidating at a harbor area roughly 6 km north of Chilaria, they encountered two Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs).

​The military reported that one VBIED was intercepted and neutralized through swift action.

However, a second vehicle managed to breach the defensive perimeter, affecting logistics platforms.

The attack resulted in the deaths of several soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), while others sustained various degrees of injuries.

​The wounded were evacuated by Nigerian Army Aviation helicopters to the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital.

During the extraction, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) platforms provided aerial overwatch, securing the area and neutralizing additional terrorists during the process.

Military officials stated that the insurgents had buried their dead in an attempt to conceal the heavy losses they suffered during the encounter, a move intended to support their propaganda narratives.

​Despite the recent attacks, the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North East) described the security situation across the theater as stable.

​”Troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain high, and operations continue with sustained pressure on fleeing terrorist elements,” the statement read.

​The military reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and restoring lasting peace to the North East region.
