2026 Nat. Police Day: Tinubu Assures Nigerians on Security, Calls for Cooperation.

That was the grand parade and procession marking the 2026 National Police Day, held to honour fallen heroes of the Force and recognise the dedication of serving personnel.

At Eagle Square in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu assured Nigerians that the country’s security challenges will be overcome,even as he
called on citizens to support the police and other security agencies in maintaining peace and order.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President said the event highlights the administration’s commitment to strengthening security, improving police welfare, and rebuilding public trust in law enforcement.

The Vice President also urged police leadership to remain responsive to the needs of the people, stressing that citizens must see the Force as partners in preserving peace.

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to public safety, describing the moment as a new era for policing in Nigeria one anchored on integrity, discipline, service, and renewed public trust.

The event, the med “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” attracted top government officials, security chiefs, and police personnel from across the country.
