APC National Chairman Visits Jos Victims, Donates ₦15 Million for Medical Care
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has called for a definitive end to the cycle of violence in Plateau State following a recent attack on the Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the APC National Chairman on Media and Communication Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA indicates that during a solemn visit to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Professor Yilwatda met with survivors currently receiving treatment.
Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Martina Yilwatda, the Chairman described the assault as a “barbaric” and “unacceptable” affront to humanity.
To assist with the recovery of those affected, Professor Yilwatda announced a donation of ₦15 million noting that the fund was earmarked to cover the medical expenses of the Angwan Rukuba victims, as well as other vulnerable patients at JUTH facing financial hardship.
”The pain of these families is a burden we must all share.
“This donation is a practical step to ease the physical and financial trauma caused by this senseless violence,” he said.
The Chairman used the visit to reaffirm the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to restoring permanent peace to the region.
He emphasized that the Federal Government is “leaving no stone unturned” in its efforts to strengthen intelligence gathering and security operations.
Following his time at the hospital, the APC Chairman paid a condolence visit to the Ujah Anaguta, the Paramount Ruler of Jos North, to sympathize with the community under his domain.
Professor Yilwatda also commended the management and medical staff of JUTH for their professionalism and rapid response in saving the lives of the injured.
The visit concluded with a strong message of solidarity, with the Chairman asserting that the APC and the Federal Government remain united in ensuring that the perpetrators of the violence do not prevail and that safety is guaranteed for all residents of Plateau State.
