TMSG Urges ADC To Address Internal Crisis, Dismisses Allegations Against Tinubu, APC.
The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has advised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to focus on resolving its internal challenges rather than blaming Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, and Secretary, Dapo Okubanjo, the group described ADC’s claim of a plot to make President Tinubu the sole presidential candidate in 2027 as “wicked, malicious, and preposterous.”
TMSG said it was concerned by allegations from ADC leadership that there were attempts to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise a faction of the party other than the group led by David Mark.
The group also dismissed claims that unnamed figures within the APC were working to create confusion within ADC ranks, describing such assertions as baseless.
According to TMSG, internal disagreements within ADC date back to developments following the 2023 elections, including the reported takeover of party structures by a faction linked to Atiku Abubakar in July 2025.
It noted that the process, which allegedly involved former party chairman Ralph Nwosu handing over to the Atiku-led group, was contested by some party members over claims that due process was not followed and key party organs were bypassed.
TMSG further cited statements by a factional spokesman, Christopher Okechukwu, who reportedly described the David Mark-led group as “interlopers” engaged in a “hostile takeover.”
The group observed that both factions are currently in court, questioning why ADC would implicate President Tinubu or the APC in what it described as an internal party dispute.
TMSG argued that the APC’s current position is the result of years of political organisation and effort under leaders such as Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group urged ADC leaders to look inward and adopt practical measures to resolve their internal crisis, stressing that building and sustaining a political party requires due process and discipline rather than attributing challenges to external forces.
