TMV Hails Tinubu’s UK Visit As Boost To Nigeria–UK Relations.
The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has described the recent visit of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the United Kingdom at the invitation of King Charles III as a significant milestone in bilateral relations between both countries.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group said the royal visit reflects growing international recognition of Nigeria under President Tinubu’s leadership.
TMV noted that the visit provided an opportunity for Nigeria to secure key bilateral agreements aimed at stimulating economic growth and attracting foreign direct investment.
Among the major outcomes, the group highlighted a £746 million loan deal for the revitalisation of the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports, describing the facilities as critical to Nigeria’s import and export activities, government revenue generation, and employment.
The group also pointed out that the two-day state visit led to the signing of an immigration cooperation agreement under which both countries will receive deported citizens and offenders who have completed their sentences.
According to TMV, a key feature of the agreement ensures that returnees will retain access to their legally acquired personal belongings, unlike previous situations where deported migrants often returned without their assets.
It added that the visit is expected to boost trade volumes and deepen cooperation in areas such as security and economic development.
TMV further described the trip coming 37 years after the last state visit by a Nigerian leader to the United Kingdom as a sign of global recognition of the administration’s policies.
Other agreements reached during the visit, the group said, covered migration, border security, and business mobility, all aimed at strengthening Nigeria–UK relations and fostering mutually beneficial opportunities.
